This 8-day Tanzania Family Safari is crafted for families seeking adventure, bonding, and unforgettable wildlife encounters. The journey includes gentle travel days, family-friendly lodges, educational wildlife activities for kids, cultural interactions, and comfortable full-board accommodation throughout. Destinations include Tarangire’s famous elephant herds, Lake Manyara’s forests and flamingos, the legendary Serengeti, and the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater.

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your family will be greeted and transferred to a comfortable lodge in Arusha. This first evening is dedicated to settling in, enjoying a relaxed dinner together, and briefing with your safari guide. Children can explore the lodge gardens while parents unwind, setting the stage for an exciting week ahead.
Overnight: In Arusha

After breakfast, the family sets off for Tarangire National Park, renowned for its towering baobabs and large elephant herds. Along the way, children can participate in “Wildlife Bingo,” spotting giraffes, zebras, and colorful birds. The afternoon is spent on a game drive, encountering lions, buffalo, and other iconic African wildlife in the golden afternoon light.
Overnight: Tented Lodge

Today is a full day dedicated to exploring Tarangire’s diverse habitats. Morning and afternoon game drives offer opportunities to photograph elephants at waterholes and watch the playful antics of monkeys and birds. Between drives, the family can enjoy pool time at the lodge or engage in fun educational activities led by your guide. Evenings are capped with storytelling around the fire, sharing the day’s discoveries.
Overnight: Tented Lodge

Depart Tarangire and head to Lake Manyara National Park. En route, families can choose a short cultural walk in a nearby village or try a gentle canoeing excursion on the lake. Afternoon game drives reveal tree-climbing lions, troops of baboons, and flamingos shimmering on the lake’s surface. Children can learn about bird species and animal behavior, making this day both educational and adventurous.
Overnight: Wildlife Lodge

After a leisurely breakfast, the safari continues through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands to the Serengeti. Stop at a traditional Maasai boma for an immersive cultural visit, where children can meet local herders and learn about Maasai traditions. Arrival in the Serengeti is greeted with the vast plains stretching endlessly, followed by an afternoon game drive spotting lions, cheetahs, and grazing herds.
Overnight: Wildlife Lodge

Spend a full day in the Serengeti, exploring the iconic savannah. Morning and afternoon drives allow the family to track lions, cheetahs, and wildebeest herds. Children can take part in learning activities, such as identifying animal tracks, bird watching, and understanding predator-prey interactions. Pack a picnic and enjoy lunch in the heart of the wilderness, surrounded by endless plains and roaming wildlife.
Overnight: Wildlife Lodge

Depart the Serengeti and drive toward the Ngorongoro Crater. Descend into this world-famous natural wonder, often called Africa’s Eden, to witness rhinos, lions, and elephants in one spectacular setting. Stop for a picnic lunch near the hippo pool, allowing kids to spot wildlife from close range. In the evening, share stories of the day’s sightings and enjoy a relaxing night at the lodge overlooking the crater rim.
Overnight: Wildlife Lodge

After breakfast, take a scenic drive back to Arusha. Along the way, visit the Shanga Cultural Center to shop for handmade crafts, supporting local artisans.
